Suggestions for Comments:

- Recommend Option 2 (see project information from the DOT above)
- Make sure the bridge to be designed with a future park in mind
- Make the bridge a focal point and an attraction in itself - an integral part of the park
- Make sure the bridge abutments allow for walkways under the bridge on both sides of the river
- Install see through guard rails (concrete arch type) so that the river park can be viewed more easily form the sidewalk and bike lane
- Construct the bridge with pleasing architecture that would fit-in with a river park setting
- Build observation platforms over the river
- Make ADA accessible ramps down to the river on the north and south side
- Make sure the bridge to be designed with a future park in mind
- Make the bridge a focal point and an attraction in itself - an integral part of the park
- Include mountings for future street lamps (street lamps are the responsibility of the town of Cullowhee)
- Decrease the gradient of the slope of the North Bank above the bridge to allow more easy access to the water
- Acquire the houses and land to enable more park space
- Extend bridge sidewalks to the terminous of the proposed greenway
- Extend sidewalks to the WCU campus
- When acquiring land, purchase the following properties: 7559-46-2173, 7559-46-1151, 7559-45-4790 (these are the 3 properties on the north side of the river along Wayahutta rd. closest to the bridge.
